Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 2025
This Privacy Policy ("Policy") describes the manner in which Dekit ("Dekit", "we," or "us") and our website, as well as all related mobile applications and other services provided by us and on which a link to this Policy is displayed (collectively, our "Services") use and collect data from individuals. This Policy describes the information that we gather from you on the Services, how we use and disclose such information, and the steps we take to protect such information.
Dekit is provided free of charge and is designed to assist DoorDash drivers in managing and tracking delivery offers. By using Dekit, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Policy.
Information We Collect on the Services
Information you provide to us:
- User-provided Information: When you use the Services, we may collect information about you, including your name, email address, mobile phone number, and date of birth. We may link this information with other information about you. You may provide us with information in various ways on the Services. For example, you provide us with information when you link our Service to your DoorDash account, and the information we receive depends on how we integrate with DoorDash and how you use our Service in connection with it.
- Communications: Communications that we exchange with you, including when you contact us with questions, feedback, or otherwise via our support channel.
- Other information not specifically listed here, which we will use as described in this Privacy Policy or as otherwise disclosed at the time of collection.
Automatic data collection: We and our service providers may automatically log and combine information about you, your mobile device, and your interactions over time with the Services, including:
- Cookies and Automatically Collected Information: When you use the Services, we may send one or more cookies — small text files containing a string of alphanumeric characters — to your device. We may use both session cookies and persistent cookies. A session cookie disappears after you close the app. A persistent cookie remains after you close the app and may be used on subsequent visits to the Services.
- Device and Usage Information: We may automatically record certain information from your device, including your IP address or other device address or ID, device type, operating system version, the pages or content you view or interact with on the Services, and the dates and times that you access or use the Services.
- Location Information: We obtain information about your physical location through GPS and other geolocation features in your device. Location data is used to identify the nearest available DoorDash delivery zone and to maintain an active dash session while you are working. We do not use location data for advertising or share it with third parties for marketing purposes.
- Order History Data: We collect data about delivery offers you receive, accept, and decline through DoorDash, including offer amounts, distances, restaurant names, and timestamps. This data is stored within the App for your own reference.
- Information from Other Sources: We may obtain information from third parties and sources other than the Services, such as DoorDash, in connection with the integration of our Services with that platform.
How We Use the Information We Collect
- To operate, maintain, enhance, and provide all features of the Services, to provide services and information that you request, and to respond to comments and questions and otherwise provide support to users.
- To understand and analyze usage trends and preferences of our users, to improve the Services, and to develop new features and functionality.
- To contact you for administrative purposes such as customer service, or to send communications relating to the Services.
- To use cookies and automatically collected information to personalize our Services, monitor and analyze the effectiveness of the Services, and track aggregate usage metrics.
We do not use your personal information for advertising, behavioral profiling, or purposes beyond operating and improving the App.
Face Data and Identity Verification
Dekit does not collect, process, store, or share face data, face images, face templates, biometric identifiers, or face geometry. If identity verification is required, the verification flow may request camera access and is handled by a third-party verification provider/service. Dekit does not receive or retain face data from that verification process.
Camera, Microphone, and Photo Library Access
- Camera: Camera access may be required solely to complete identity verification through a third-party provider. You may be asked to photograph a government-issued identity document and take a photo or video selfie. This is a one-time process required to activate your account. Dekit does not receive or store any images captured during this process.
- Microphone: Microphone access may be required when recording a video selfie during the identity verification process. The microphone is not used for any other purpose.
- Photo Library: Access to your photo library may be requested if you choose to upload an identity document from your device during the verification process. We do not access or collect any photos beyond those you explicitly select for upload.
When We Disclose Information
- We may disclose information about you if required to do so by law or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with state and federal laws, in response to a court order, judicial or other government subpoena or warrant, or to otherwise cooperate with law enforcement or other governmental agencies.
- We also reserve the right to disclose information about you that we believe, in good faith, is appropriate or necessary to: (i) take precautions against liability; (ii) protect ourselves or others from fraudulent, abusive, or unlawful uses or activity; (iii) investigate and defend ourselves against any third-party claims or allegations; (iv) protect the security or integrity of the Services; or (v) protect our property or other legal rights, or the rights, property, or safety of others.
- Information about our users may be disclosed and otherwise transferred to an acquirer, successor, or assignee as part of any merger, acquisition, sale of assets, or similar transaction, or in the event of insolvency, bankruptcy, or receivership.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Your Choices
You may decline to share certain information with us, in which case we may not be able to provide some features and functionality of the Services. You may update, correct, or delete your account information at any time by contacting us via our support channel.
Please note that while any changes you make will be reflected in active user databases within a reasonable period of time, we may retain information you submit for backups, archiving, prevention of fraud and abuse, analytics, satisfaction of legal obligations, or where we otherwise reasonably believe that we have a legitimate reason to do so.
You may revoke camera, microphone, location, or photo library permissions at any time through your device settings. Revoking certain permissions may affect the App's ability to function correctly.
Third-Party Services
The Services may contain features or links to websites and services provided by third parties. Any information you provide on third-party sites or services is provided directly to the operators of such services and is subject to those operators' policies, if any, governing privacy and security, even if accessed through the Services. We are not responsible for the content or privacy and security practices and policies of third-party sites or services to which links or access are provided through the Services. We encourage you to learn about third parties' privacy and security policies before providing them with information.
Children's Privacy
Protecting the privacy of young children is especially important. Our Services are not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 without obtaining parental consent. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Data Security
We use certain physical, managerial, and technical safeguards that are designed to improve the integrity and security of information that we collect and maintain. Please be aware that no security measures are perfect or impenetrable. We cannot and do not guarantee that information about you will not be accessed, viewed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed by breach of any of our physical, technical, or managerial safeguards.
Changes and Updates to This Policy
Please revisit this page periodically to stay aware of any changes to this Policy, which we may update from time to time. If we modify this Policy, we will make it available through the Services and indicate the date of the latest revision. In the event that the modifications materially alter your rights or obligations hereunder, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you of the change, such as through a notification in the App or via our support channel. Your continued use of the Services after the revised Policy has become effective indicates that you have read, understood, and agreed to the current version of this Policy.
